10 Reasons NOT to Start a Blog

1. I don't have enough time for a blog.
2. Multiple email accounts, Facebook, Twitter, etc. (I don't twit, but for those of you that do)
3. It is a distraction from household chores.
4. I don't have enough time for a blog.
5. I don't have any children or pets.
6. I don't have any pictures of my children or my pets (see #5).
7. I should be working on stuff for work.
8. I don't make my own gluten-free recipes.
9. I'm not on a fascinating missionary journey to share with others.
10. I don't have enough time for a blog.

Oh well, I'm going to do a blog anyways!  

On the subject of top 10 lists:  

In grad. school, I had a friend who would get extremely restless and frustrated in a certain class. To keep her occupied, calm,  and all of us entertained, I would give my friend a top 10 topic.  By the end of class, she would have a witty top 10 list to share with us outside in the hallway.  I still have some of those lists which I stumbled across the other day.  It made me smile!

A New Sunrise

The morning after I started my new blog, what did God wake me up to view?  The sunrise!

Then a barge came by, and after trying many shots, I decided to research lens flare solutions.

Blog Sunrise

Picture the orange, pink glow on the horizon; the cool morning breeze; the smell of forest pine; the crunch of rocky earth beneath your feet.  Then you see it--the big yellow blaze--the sun!  It's a sunrise!  Don't you just love watching a sunrise?  It is a beautiful miracle each morning. 

Well, this is the sunrise of my blog!              

How shall I compare my blog to a sunrise?  Hopefully my blog will have some moments of beauty.  Lord willing it will provide refreshment for some.  I do not watch many sunrises because I am not a morning person.  (I love watching sunsets, too, and those are easier for me to catch).  I probably haven't watched one, purposefully, in years.  Many years ago, a friend tried to convince me that I should write a blog.  "I rarely check my email," I protested.  So this blog is like me watching a sunrise in that it is delayed.  I feel a tinge of excitement when watching a sunrise as I am right now in creating a blog.

The inspiration for the title "Finding at Sunrise" is from my favorite little poem included below.

God is in every tomorrow,
Therefore I live for today,
Certain of finding at sunrise,
Guidance and strength for my way;
Power for each moment of weakness,
Hope for each moment of pain,
Comfort for every sorrow,
Sunshine and joy after rain.

And each sunrise is a new beginning for His mercies are new with the morning. (ref. Lamentations 3:22, 23)
